About Us

InfoMapTM is the home of high-detailed maps of Southern Africa.
InfoMapTM is a brand of paper and digital maps developed and researched for the adventurous traveller, those who demand more from a road map than the ordinary.

What's so special about InfoMap?

All InfoMapsTM contain information found on no other road maps sold anywhere! No contest! Information includes GPS coordinates of accomodation facilities, visitors centre's, adventure sites, points of interest, landmarks, towns, fuel stops, intersections and more. You will find descriptive multi-language icons indicating the type of facility (e.g: lodge, camp, hotel) as well as activities icons (e.g: Tennis, Fishing, Golf, Swimming, Wheelchair Friendly, and many more). Roads, Tracks, 4x4 tracks and even many hiking trails are Included.

What are the GPS Coordinates?

The GPS coordinates written in all InfoMap’sTM products consist of a latitude and longitude that can be inputted into a GPS reciever to aid navigation. Some map publishers, including South Africa's most well known brand, have been seen to write 'GPS coordinates' on the cover of some of their products to entice buyers. Grids are pretty useless for lifting coordinates unless the map's scale is less than +-1:250 000. The maps referred to here are over 1:1000 000, where if the width of the road is, lets say 2mm, this represents  2kms on the ground! Accuracy is therefore going so be seriously compromised.

InfoMap display true GPS coordinates of intersections, towns, fuel points, resorts and points of interest. However, InfoMap can be used by users that do not have a GPS reciever; the coordinates are provided as an aid to those that have. Coordinates can be inputted manually from the paper map. We feel that our maps are superior to any other road maps published in South Africa and contain real, useful detail, every minor track and 4x4 trail we can find, ideal for the adventurous traveller.
